Life Of a Mermaid
Hey Nono nation (Am I free to call you that?)
I'm back like I never left. Lol
The past days have been hilarious and all yunno.
Before I begin knack una gist first, Has anyone noticed the sun is getting hotter asthe days go by? Who did we offend please. Yet, some people have the guts tod
disturb my peace with 'Winter is here...yen yen yen'. Which winter? No be harnattan we get over here and, en neva dey come soon sef. GOT fans y'all should respect yourselves o. ๐
Ehen yard people I say make I ask una o. Please where did vendors and business people learn it's cool to abandon one's work to face others that came after just because , they've been paid beforehand? . I have experienced this like twice now.
The first being the time I paid someone (in full) to help me arrange and make corrections on my IT training report and make a slide. I did this late last year just before the 3 months strike ASUU embarked on. Till the week of IT defence, Nigga kept on posting me, avoid my calls, say (Pretend) a lecturer was calling him when we bump into each other. I just had to accept my fate a day before the defence. I went to another person and had him do everything quickly. Needless to say, I had to pay double for a service. Whenever he sees me now, he starts smiling sheepishly. Like who is smiling with you? I just wonder how I'll take back atleast the installment I paid him for my seminar work which is oncoming(before i got to know he is a bag of tricks) Any suggestions please?
The latest is the graphic designer I paid a greater part of his price while he made promises to deliver about four days ago. Till now, Oga has been giving me excuses of how he travelled for a marathon wedding spree to a place he claims has no transport buses he could use to waybill my work. All I just do is view his different 'wedding guest' pictures he displays on his WhatsApp status while I pray God touches his heart to return safely with my work because I have no strength to fight.

Two days ago, I went out with my friend to see her friend who happened to be an old time friend and classmate of mine. I was quite reluctant at first mostly because, I'll always choose my bed and phone over going outside. Talk more of going outside to see people. This visit turned out to be greater than I expected. I made new friends. They were so warm, welcoming and friendly. Ordinary squeezing of my face, everyone wants to know what's bugging me. Like, aren't you Nigerians? You have nothing to be annoyed about today?. I felt so welcome. I Sincerely didn't feel like leaving and I didn't leave both that day and the one after.
I can't remember when last I laughed so hard and really frequently from the bottom of my heart. God bless those Amazing souls. I had to drag myself to make sure I attend classes. (Am I lying?)
I can suck belle for my country.
It's so hard to believe even to myself but,I FUCKING SWAM *Raising shoulders and beating chest*
I was jejely pressing my phone ontop bed when one of my friends suggested we go swim. Ghen ghen. My ears and interest shot up. I had to leave all the fine fine stuff I was admiring and adding to my cart on Jumia knowing fully well I really can't afford them anytime soon. But, a girl gotta hope you know๐. I had been admiring the pool so it was a welcomed idea. I had to improvise as I had no swimsuit.
Little did I know swimming actually isn't as easy as it looks. You gotta use your legs and arm muscles. It felt like a work out session. But then, despite it being the first time in my life, you needed to see me navigating the pool like a pro✌. O my God I'm so proud of myself. Let's ignore the fact I never left the provided life buoy for two minutes, let's also forget I unintentionally drank lots and lots of pool water during this excercise, buoy the times enough water entered my nose when I dared to leave the life buoy whenever I tried holding my breath underwater, I had a lot of fun.
Beautiful Mermaid
I already feel like I should start organising swimming classes. All this newly acquired badass skills and lessons can't just go to waste. You feel me?
My volunteered swim aide Zidar made this experience so fun. Atleast he made sure I didn't drown. I really didn't mind staying there all through the day or even forever most especially laidis he's a handsome man๐but, I got to realize I'm actually a human being and not the beautiful mermaid I was feeling like and had to reluctantly leave the pool.
I had a very nasty muscle pull and I felt slightly awkward as I walked away from the pool. (Shouldn't I be floating just like I was in the pool please?)
My friend complained of how I kept snoring with reckless abandon at night. All thanks to a cold I got from swimming. That reminds me of the two great tips to keep in mind before entering a swimming pool.
- Don't blow your nose even when water gets into it. It'll trickle out almost immediately although it gives a tickling sensation while it finds its way out, supress the urge to blow your nose unless you wanna end up with both blocked yet and runny nostrils.
- If you're on natural hair or, if you're a hair freak whether natural or relaxed, I'll advice you to swim with a shower cap. I swam without it and didn't notice or feel the bristles from the ends of a rope attached to the life buoy tug at and rip my hair. I almost screamed when I saw the amount of hair lost. A showercap could also prevent water from getting to your hair and turning it hard. I learnt it was because of the presence of chlorine in the water.
_ No matter how nice and body moving a music is playing around the poolside, you can't twerk no matter how hard you try inside a swimming pool ๐
Peace, Love, Light.
