Living in the times of corona

Stay at home! Stay at home!! Stay at home!!!
For the first time in my life, there’s a need. Nope! A global need for everyone on the face of the earth to stay indoors.
I know I’m actually a home potato but, now there’s a stay at home order which I have been obeying over the weeks as strictly as I can, I actually want to go out now. Even with no destination in mind, I honestly want to leave this house and roam about.

Aside spoiling my plans for some good Yunno *winks, this pandemic is causing some terrible harm. I try to imagine how homeless people survive during this tough period. Some philanthropist share food in public from time to time on Instagram. That’s them doing what they can do to help and honestly, it’s a remarkable thing to do whether most of them do it for the gram or, for humanity especially at this trying times. But, that’s just one meal out of how many more.

Let’s not even discuss people that have to be up and about each day in order to feed themselves and probably their family. I can’t imagine what they’re going through.

Or, people that live in toxic homes and usually find comfort outside the place they call home. My prayers are with them.

On the other hand, things that have disadvantages actually have some disadvantages. Situations like this too.
Dear randy married man or, woman reading this post how far na. Have you eaten, How do you feel staying at a place with your family and, your claimed location being true for once? Is your mind at peace or, does it usually beat gbim gbim whenever your phone rings and it is not with you? Abi you haven’t removed it from silent mode? Wehdone o.

Someone said that this virus entered Nigeria and started to greet the leaders first and, where is the lie? I wasn’t actually happy when once in a while, it’s announced that a leader is down with the virus. Ok let’s be truthful. I WAS REALLY HAPPY. I was excited chiefly because, none of them could fly out as usual to get medical care from countries that value their medical system and invest in it.

Let’s have a minute silence in honor of The President’s chief of staff that passed after battling with the corona virus.
Are you among the people fighting others on social media, accusing them of lack of empathy?
Please answer these questions.
-Did you take the death of common Nigerians who died from the disease to your chest like you are taking this one?
-Did you rejoice when Osama Bin Laden was killed?
You didn’t know that he too has a wife and daughter and son and mummy and daddy and villagers?😂
Don’t be a hypocrite o

He amongst others that are eating the tasty fruits they’ve planted. Hopefully when this is over, something in fact many great things will be done about our medical system. Hopefully.

Let’s not even talk about pastors using this period to shine. Those that are predicting stuff about this pandemic and when the promised date arrives without the expected miracle, there’s no other option left than to postpone it again.

Or the warrior pastors that are not afraid of corona virus rather, the virus is afraid of them. They said they can fight the virus and seriously, I am waiting for the great fight. Anything that will make me step out in peace without hand gloves and nose mask is an option for me right now.

Some pastors are sure of the fact that this is the end of the world. Like the world is coming to an end. I’m baffled. How can the world end when I’ve not seen the faces of my children? When I’ve not traveled round this world? When I’ve not snapped the picture that’s in my mind with somebody’s son. Picture that’ll make people ask God when? When I’ve not chop life until it begs for mercy? Let’s stop this rough play abeg.
But, wait. If Jesus decides to come now, what will your fate be? Don’t answer me. Judge yourself in your heart.

How about the pastor teaching us that the nation is on lockdown because of the release of 5G network and not because of corona virus pandemic.

Wait what?

You can’t even argue or, give your little opinion on what these pastors say on social media because, they have loyal warriors in whatever social media platform you can think of.
These warriors are ready to sacrifice a whole day or, more to finish your life if you give a contradictory opinion. They’re ready to dig up your past which includes, your hideous pictures, writeup, just anything that can be used against you in the court of social media. They will drag you like  ‘I pass my neighbor’ generator that has no fuel in it and if you have a faint heart, you might become suicidal.

Concerning this situation, my dad bought a new big red radio that is actually sacred. This radio cannot be touched anyhow. I think this radio has replaced the love my parents have for my siblings and I.
This radio is so important that, you can’t be talking when the radio is talking.

An urgent family meeting was held some weeks back on how we would survive this Rona period. I was quite okay with every topic discussed except rationing food as my parents want to be prepared Incase the lockdown stretches for months.
And why exactly were my parents mentioning my name repeatedly during the talk. It’s not like I eat too much.
Kitchen security is now very tight. You can’t even be frying meat and throw a piece into your mouth. You can’t be done cooking and bring out small ‘tasting’ for yourself. My mum really has nowhere to go so, she usually balls in and out of the kitchen too frequent for my liking.
It’s not like I’m complaining tho because, some people actually have nothing to eat so, as I eat my baby sized meals without complaining.

I swear I'm not crying

Guys of all times, this is the time EEDC (Enugu Electricity Distribution Company) people have decided to play with our electricity and by extension, our hearts too. I’ll have an anger fit writing this so, let’s leave them to the gods.

I wrote this on the 27th of April, 2020 so, Incase it gets posted after the lockdown, fear God and act like it was posted during the lockdown. This is because, network in this house is nothing to write home about.

I’ll be grumbling on how you can’t get a steady network . That’s when my mum will start reading out the latest news opera mini people sent her. I can’t tell her this to her face because? slaps.
So, someone should please help me tell her that I’m always on my phone because there’s nothing else to do and, I sleep frequently because I’m bored. Please also tell her I’m tired of reading her opera mini news to her whenever she’s not with her glasses. Let her try someone else. I’m also tired of drinking the herbal tea she boils with different leaves and fruits. (I would have been pouring away my share of the tea but, you gotta drink it in her presence). I wonder why she and my dad think the tea is for preventing getting infected with Corona virus. I’m suspecting her WhatsApp friends and family.

Lastly, please tell her that I’m grown now and she shouldn’t be looking at me one kind when my phone rings and I distance myself to pick it and for the love of God, let her stop preaching to me about how small small boys with sagging tear tear trousers will ruin my life. I’m also tired of the daily marriage counseling which usually ends or begins with ‘your mates are getting married my dear’.

Speaking of marriages, for the first time in my life, I was someone’s bridesmaid. Shortly before this disease’s shameless arrival.

You don’t need to say I am beautiful. I know 😎

Aside sleeping, cooking, eating and searching for hide and seek network, I’m actually learning new things which I’m truly excited about and hopefully, I’ll be sharing them in my next post.

We shall overcome this virus. And best believe I’ll be steadily hitting my children with ‘Back then in 2020...’ whenever they complain of being bored or, want to leave the house unnecessarily. I’m trying to decide if it’s best I tell them the truth. How I was a home baby throughout the pandemic or, should I make my story a bit spicy and tell them of how I was in the front lines donating all my savings and, how I joined medical staff to save lives?

Always remember to stay safe
- Wash your hands frequently with soap and running water.
- Maintain personal hygiene.
-Stay indoors (You will not die)
- If you must go out, remember to wear your face mask and hand gloves. Also, maintain social distancing.
- Better stifle your cough and sneeze in public o and if you must sneeze, do that into your elbow. Cough into your handkerchief and dispose properly.
- Japa from any coughing or sneezing person abeg
- Stop checking the numbers. You will become depressed. Just pray and do all you can to stay safe.
- Don’t turn into an alomo bitters concoction herbalist. Verify first before eating/drinking/indulging in any activity people claim to keep the virus away from one. (Mummy abeg na)

Thanks for reading. I promise to be more consistent with this blog of ours.
I think this is the best time to announce this; If you know I’m flirting with you during this period, it’s because I’m bored. We are probably not gonna hang out after this. If you think I like you? It’s all in your head dear.
